(More customer reviews)This is an okay rosin. Take it from me-a violin player of 6 years. It sticks to the bow nicely, and does not produce much dust that could mark the violin. However, this rosin melts EXTREMELY easily, and is rather brittle. All in all, a fairly good rosin.

(More customer reviews)My daughter started piano in the 3rd grade with private lessons every week and intensive practice. This past September, she added weekly Saxophone lessons but constantly played with an old violin I'd bought in China. She indicated she wanted to learn violin. What's especially important with any instrument, is that it's a quality instrument. With so many cheap violins out there that look attractive, they are horrible for beginners as the young student has to constantly tune them. What's great about this Romanian made violin is that it's quality is mind boggling. It actually stays in tune for days at a time. The other aspect is that so many parents fail to measure a child's arm. For my daughter, the 3/4 size will likely last for at least 3 years. Oh, I forgot to mention the sound of this violin... it's nearly perfect.

Stagg 4/4 Sized Violin Case Review

(More customer reviews)This case is very cheaply made. The description states it is for a 4/4 violin, but I didn't think I was going to be able to even get it closed. It did close, not easily, and I was worried that the slightest bump might damage the instrument. Even more disappointing was that the bow didn't even fit in the lid! I really wouldn't recommend this product at all if you have a higher priced violin. Spend the extra money and get a nicer case - and one that can also house the bow!

(More customer reviews)I bought this to replace my old low-budget bow, and it's been a success in every way. It's smooth, draws a nice tone, and feels good in the hand. My only complaint is Musician's Friend's shipping department almost killed it- it was loose inside a very large box. It's just lucky that it wasn't damaged. Ordinarily they are an excellent vendor, so hopefully this was just a bad day for the shipping dept. The bow itself is an excellent value and gets a big thumbs-up.
Don't use the usual junky old box rosin; spend a few bucks more on a good-quality cake rosin.

Mach One 3/4-4/4 Violin Maple Wood Shoulder Rest Review

(More customer reviews)This shoulder rest took a little getting used to. It wasn't quite as comfortable as I thought it would be. It does look nice though. I also prefer a shoulder rest that is a little higher (although this one does adjust). I wish it came with instructions labeling how to put it together, and what to do for certain variations (like height and size). I do like it now after I've used it for several months, but I don't know that I would buy this brand again.

I've played an outdoor picnic and at church with it so far, using a mid size Martin guitar and SM58, and I'm very pleased with the purchase. Definitely the best acoustic amp on the market for the money IMO.

Full Size Violin 4 x 4 With Case - Metallic Red Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, the violin is not really red, certainly not the red of the photo. I would call it orange-red, and it is metallic. Secondly, it has the tone of a $50 violin -- good to buy the child who is just starting out and may never take more than 9 or 10 lessons. You truly get what you pay for. The construction itself is good, and asthetically it is pretty. The bow is just a basic bow, and the case is just glorified thick foam covered on the outside with canvas and the inside with crushed velvet.
Overall...for the money, it is worth it. If you want amazing sound, then you'll need to spend more, but the fashion color itself is enough to at least entice a kid to try a few lessons, and if they don't take to it, you didn't lose much in investment!

The teacher noticed the bow stick is very much crooked, and said that will affect performance. The stick is bend to the side and it bends more when the hair is tighten. So I decided to return it. It seems well made, so the problem is likely that the wood used may be not the standard wood for making bow.

Because of the size, I found it difficult to tune and keep in tune, but I had researched beforehand and knew this was an issue with a violin of this size. We wanted something affordable and this model was just a step up from the cheapest ones, so we weren't expecting the best quality instrument. After all, even if we had spent hundreds more, what can you reasonably expect from a 3-1/2-year old and his violin? This quality and priced violin made sense for our situation. So far, my son is thrilled to take out his violin and experiment with making sound. We haven't started him on any lessons just yet, but thus far, we are very pleased with our purchase. It came with a bow, rosin, bridge and zipper-type case. We followed youtube videos on getting set up, so it wasn't too complicated. I am hoping with proper care and instruction that the violin will last until he needs the next size.

The SV-130 violin can be played with earphones or even with an amp.
It has a very rich sound and i personally recomend it for intermediate violin players.
It came perfectly packaged nicely, however my country had tax for musical instrument of 10% so to any of you who are thinking of purchasing this instrument please check your country's taxes.
The strings arent that bad but the G string broke when I was tuning it. I would recomend a full set restring, and the pegs wouldnt hold too well.
The bow seems pretty descent too. The only problematic part about this violin is the Gig Bag provided. PLEASE DO NOT GO FOR THE GIG BAG. Just buy the violin. The bag does not fit the violin properly and the violin has to be inverted in order to be inserted into the bag.
The reason i rated it 4 stars and not 5 is mainly because of the bag and strings. Other than that, it is an awesome buy. Furthermore it's price is also reasonable. For sound quality as such, 700 dollars is a very low sum to pay.
