(More customer reviews)My cellist and I were unable to view this case locally anywhere before we purchased and ordered it sight unseen. Figuring many of you are in that same predicament we will offer up our opinion since we were not 100% sold on it upon arrival however...we ultimately decided to keep it.
Bam classic cello case first off what we expected and got: latches work nicely only takes a minute to line up then shuts quickly, 5 pin hinges on the back, nice pockets on the interior. cello does not move at all once secured- case even rolled over during transport and cello was in tune at destination. Out side nice textured finish, bold bright color. Shoulder straps were average.
What we expected but it was NOT is this case is NOT rigid when upright and open loading and unloading cello could only be done from lying down position. It would NOT be safe to load this case with the cello standing up in it. However, after a trip to the local music store to view a $1,300 Eastman case and a $400 Tonareli case (only 2 in stock) we compared the quality and features and decided the Bam 1. had more quality features, 2. didn't smell as chemical in the interior, 3. had the plus of being water tight, and so we could over look its un-rigid faults.
